The Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) is a Government funded program that matches a volunteer visitor with a lonely or isolated person living in an aged care facility or in their own home. Central Bayside Community Health Services delivers the CVS in the Kingston and Bayside Council areas.
The visits should be regular (at least once a fortnight) with the intention of developing an ongoing friendship and social connectedness.
The visits are purely social and can be spent doing activities that both parties enjoy, such as chatting, reading, hobbies, going for a walk or watching TV.
Many people living in the community or in aged care facilities do not have regular visitors or may be socially isolated due to health and mobility issues. A friendly visit from a regular volunteer visitor can make a tremendous difference to the wellbeing of the older person, enriching their life and making a lasting impact.
As a CVS volunteer visitor you will be provided with full training and support and required to complete a national police check.
If you would like to make a difference to the life of an older lonely person, then this role might be for you.
We look forward to hearing from you. Please complete our Volunteer Expression of Interest form or phone 8587 0322.

How can I join?
As this is a government funded program, volunteers are required to report their visits to their volunteer coordinator on a monthly basis and visit for a minimum of one year.
Volunteers are also required to attend an interview, provide referees and undergo a police check which will be paid for by CBCHS. Training will be provided and the volunteer will receive ongoing support from the volunteer coordinator.
If you are interested in joining the CVS program to visit either a resident living in an aged care facility, or a person still living in their own home, or you would like some more information about the program, please phone 8587 0322 or 8587 0296 or email email@example.com
Or complete our Volunteer Expression of Interest form.
